Junior and Senior Field Technicians:
When people hear 'smart home', they often think of a technician working at a computer, typing in mystical codes, and making magical things happen. The reality is that much of what we do requires much more traditional skills. We drill holes. We run wires. So. Many. Wires. Our team of technicians do this with skill and speed using power tools, hand tools, and old fashioned jobsite skills.

Draftsperson:
Blueprints aren't actually blue. They still play a critical role in most of our projects though. Our CAD (computer aided design) department handles much of the digital information flow to and from our offices and our field teams, builders, architects, and designers. Attention to detail and a solid understanding of AutoCAD is a must.

Service Technicians:
Typically trained in 2 or more specific product lines, or service technicians handle new installations as well as troubleshooting and servicing our existing installations. Service technicians also handle emergency and after hours support calls. Continuous learning is a requirement for these positions as new products, new techniques and new best-practices are introduced to the market.

Lead Technicians:
This is a foreman position, typically running a crew of several field technicians for the duration of a large project. Great organizational and communications skills are extremely important here, as is exemplary attendance. There will be people depending on you for leadership and problem solving.

Project Managers:
In charge of estimating, ordering, billing, and client interaction, project managers oversee large and small projects from start to finish. An in-depth knowledge of most aspects is necessary, as is the ability to interact directly with clients, architects, builders, and the rest of the Automated Ideas team.
